Day 8 of 30 Days to a Higher Vibe: The Power of Intention (AKA What we can learn from the Dr. Masaru Emoto water experiment)

Updated: Nov 19

If you ever needed proof that energy affects matter, Dr. Masaru Emoto gave us a breathtaking glimpse.

His famous water experiments remind us that what we think, say, and feel doesn’t just stay inside of us - it ripples into the physical world.

What the Dr. Masaru Emoto Water Experiment Revealed

In his studies, Dr. Emoto exposed water samples to different influences — words, music, emotions, even written phrases — and then froze and photographed the resulting crystals.

  • Water that had been shown love, gratitude, and kindness formed beautiful, symmetrical patterns that looked like snowflakes.

  • Water that had been exposed to anger, hate, or fear produced distorted, fragmented shapes.

In other words, the vibration of the message changed the structure of the water.

Since the human body is roughly 70 percent water, it’s easy to see why this matters to us.

Every thought you think, every word you speak, and every emotion you hold carries a frequency that informs your cells — just like those water molecules.

How It Applies to You

You are, in a very real way, a living vessel of water responding to vibration.

When you speak kindly to yourself or set loving intentions, your inner “water” harmonizes.

When you dwell on criticism, worry, or anger, that harmony breaks down — and you feel it as tension, fatigue, or heaviness.

The good news is that intention works both ways

Because energy is always responding, you can consciously shape the frequencies you want to live in.

Here are a few simple, everyday ways to put that into practice.

1. Bless Your Food and Water

Before you eat or drink, take a few seconds to set an intention. You might silently say, “May this nourish every cell in my body with love and light.”

Your words carry vibration — and food, like water, holds energy. Many people notice their meals taste richer and more satisfying when infused with appreciation.(As my husband says, “You can taste the love.”)

2. Set the Tone for Your Day

Each morning, pause and ask:

“What do I want to feel today?”“What energy do I want to send into the world?”

Then hold that intention in your heart for a few breaths. That single moment of conscious direction programs your field for the kind of day you want to create.

3. Use Words and Symbols on Your Body

Your body is listening. Writing loving words or symbols on your skin , even temporarily with henna or body marker ,can be a beautiful ritual of self-love.

Just like the water crystals, your cells respond to those messages.

(And yes, this awareness also reminds us to be mindful of what we tattoo permanently; ink carries vibration, too.)

4. Surround Yourself with Positive Language and Sound

Be intentional about the words and music you absorb. Lyrics, conversations, and even the labels on your water bottle all carry energetic information. When possible, choose sounds and phrases that uplift and strengthen your spirit.

Why It Works

High-frequency emotions such as love, gratitude, and joy create coherence  which is ordered, harmonious patterns of energy that support health and clarity.

Low-frequency emotions such as fear or resentment create incoherence — scattered energy that drains your system.

Every time you choose a loving thought, you’re not just thinking positively, you’re literally reorganizing the energy of your body and the field around you.

The Takeaway

Dr. Emoto’s experiments make the invisible visible.

They show us that consciousness is not abstract; it’s creative.

You are mostly water, constantly being shaped by the vibrations you emit and receive. So speak words that heal, think thoughts that soothe, and surround yourself with energy that uplifts.

When you infuse love into the smallest moments — a meal, a song, a morning intention — you raise your frequency and the vibration of the world around you.
